- Drawing and Painting Landscapes with Susanne Forestieri.

- Students will learn about an important American artist, Frederic Remington (1861-1909), who drew and painted scenes of the American Old West. He was a realistic painter who recorded details of a vanishing way of life. His beautiful landscapes and action-packed scene help us to relive the Old West. Students will learn the basics of perspective and composition; the concept of foreground, middle ground and background and learn to draw mountains, hills, rocks, cacti and other desert plants. For the final project students will put all these elements together in a landscape painting that has authenticity and beauty.

Students will concentrate on pencil and colored pencil skills. We will learn pencil line and fluidity through different drawing exercises, different techniques for different subjects by using all basis of drawing, crosshatching, pointillism, shape, form, volume, light and dark, shading, texture, symmetry, then we will learn about perspective, contour and volume.
