One of the things I liked the most about Nevada Arts Academy, also, was the community it fostered. Instead of being just a group of individuals taking lessons, many of my fellow students and I were able to share our enjoyment and appreciation of music together outside of the studio.

Most importantly, however, my experience in music not only affected my appreciation for the arts, it also taught me valuable life lessons such as perseverance, practice as a means of perfecting a skill set, and the importance of strong performance in executing any task. I have, and will continue to employ these abilities in my current position as a medical student and future profession as a physician.

My most memorable moment was during the MTNA National Competition in Atlanta,Georgia with Daren Endy and Mr. Bu. Winning first place in the nation was more than just an achievement for us all. Mr. Bu has taught us and prepared us for the competition with so much devotion that Daren and I cannot possibly take all the credit for the winning the competition. For someone who has been competing in the MTNA competitions for the past 5-6 consecutive years, it was in Atlanta of March 2009 that I have fulfilled my dream.

Everyone that works at Nevada Arts Academy is friendly and very committed to the growth of the student as a musician. Not only do they offer weekly private lessons, but they also offer very educational theory classes at many levels. During my 5 years at NAA, I enjoyed every minute of it. I would highly recommend NAA for anyone who wants to become a musician.
